Castle Crashers

The Behemoth may finally be ready to release a patch for the game-breaking online bugs in Castle Crashers soon, reports Xbox 360 Fanboy. Asked about the status of the long-awaited patch, the company stated:

We're working with Microsoft to get the title update out as quickly as we can. Sadly, we can't get into details about the certification process, but we've resolved the game's issues with data loss and networking in addition to other bugs. We can't really comment on the release yet as we're not allowed to talk about it because of Microsoft, but the update's release is definitely reaching the end of the process.

They go on to thank their fans for the support and feedback that helped them identify the bugs for squashing. Three long months after its release, it seems the online fix is in the hands of Microsoft, so we should expect it soon. Then again, the company said they were approaching submission to Microsoft nearly a month ago. As one of Microsoft's "Summer of Arcade" releases, it would stand to reason that pushing out a major patch would be a high priority. We recently heard from Capcom that generally Microsoft certification only takes 5-7 days, but that was in reference to game releases, not patches, so the time required may be different. Still, barring any major holdups, the game should be fixed before the year is up. Better late than never, and for a game that was in development for three years, "late" is a pretty loose term.
