It may be getting harder and harder to believe these days, but the word "Prologue" was in Gran Turismo 5: Prologue for a reason. The "real" Gran Turismo 5 is indeed still on the way, and the latest reminder comes from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's James Armstrong. Speaking to the Spanish publication El Financiero (via Kotaku), Armstrong said that Sony expects Gran Turismo 5 to be released in time for Christmas next year.
The mention of Gran Turismo 5 comes buried in the last paragraph of the story, so no further details were given. Note that Polyphony Digital doesn't seem to have publicly endorsed this timetable, but we can only imagine Sony and Polyphony would be on the same page when it comes to these sorts of details (...right?).
Perhaps more intriguing than the mention of Gran Turismo 5, though, is a small reference Armstrong made to what seems to be an unannounced game Sony also intends to release next year. By the exact wording of the El Financiero story (albeit through the often goofy filter of Google Translate), this title is a "new game thriller, in which the player may be designing their own history." Doesn't much sound like any title Sony currently has planned, so what could it be? Guess we'll have to wait and see.
