Wii Update Brings Vengeful Space Invaders, Metal Slug 2 Posted on Mon, 01 Dec 2008 10:06:00 PST -
This week's WiiWare releases are all about giving players a look at life on the other side, with Space Invaders Get Even putting you in control of the invaders themselves, and Pit Crew Panic! moving the often thankless tasks of a racing pit crew to center stage. Rounding out the releases is Metal Slug 2 on the Virtual Console. Taito's Space Invaders Get Even puts you in charge of an invading UFO, from which you can deploy other invaders to attack humanity's array of defenses, including tanks, fighter jets, and artillery (evidently, humanity has upgraded from its single cannon and destructible shields). Players can also compete for high scores, and upload them online through the Wi-Fi Connection. Space Invaders Get Even will run you a scant 500 Wii Points, or $5. Hudson's Pit Crew Panic!, as the name implies, puts you in control of a pit crew. If that suggests to you that you'll be using the Wii remote to, say, screw on tires, pump fuel, and perform other assorted pit crew duties, then apparently you're wrong, because it doesn't sound nearly as complicated as that. You'll simply use the Wii remote to "grab" one of the "legendary beauties" that make up the pit crew, and assign each one to a task. They then presumably perform the tasks on their own, while you provide unspecified "assistance" with the remote. Sounds... exciting? Pit Crew Panic! is playable for up to four players, and will run you 800 Wii Points ($8). Read More... |
